Biography
Melissa Carter, M.Sc., M.D., is a Clinical Geneticist at The Hospital for Sick Children and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Toronto. She completed residency in Medical Genetics at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa in 2009, then a clinical fellowship in Developmental Pediatrics at Holland-Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto. Her clinical interests include care of children with genetic developmental disabilities (in particular chromosomal disorders and Rett syndrome). She established Ontario's first Autism Genetics Clinic in October 2011. Research interests include delineation of new syndromes associated with recurrent copy number variants, in particular those associated with autism spectrum disorder.
